good reason why the bridgeplate number can`t be used to date those...otherwise 99% of Japanese Fender teles would be from 1985/86. First thing I do is take the neck off and look for a date, I`ve had shop staff do it too, sometimes just put a capo at the first fret, loosen the strings, unscrew the neckplate and sneak a peek, these days no shortage of people trying to take advantage of the feeding frenzy on MIJs and prixces are going up so before I drop my money on a guitar I wanna know what I`m getting.
So...those teles are selling for $900.oo according to that second link? Man, thats freakin crazy...get a used one from Ishibashi`s U-Box for less including shipping, last double bound I sold to Canada from Japan I sold for think it was $600.oo...and I made money on it. $900.oo...plus shipping...is just too much...OK, I`ll rephrase...thats a price I wouldn`t pay for one in this lifetime.Statistics: Posted by sneakypete — Sat Jun 27, 2009 9:23 pm
