I think I can probably tell you a couple of things about your guitar you don't already know.
The DS91E-VS is the model of your Dean. Unfortunately, I can't get a positive production date since only American made Deans include a production date in the serial number. The DS series was produced from 1994-1996.
Your guitar was made in Korea; I think the "S" in your serial number stands for Samick, a large Korean producer that was making guitars for everyone during this period.
As far as value goes, you essentially have a Korean super-strat, and millions of them were produced from 85-95. On the plus side, your guitar does have a shrimpfork headstock that sets it apart from the typical super-strat. I also think the finish might be Flame Maple Cherry which was a color upgrade and cost more compared to the standard finishes.
The Blue Book value for these Korean made Deans is not very good. The DS91E is valued at $350 USD in Near Mint condition and $300 USD in Excellent Plus condition.Statistics: Posted by VintAxe — Wed Aug 06, 2008 10:29 am
