Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the Korean Lyle's other than they are generally considered inferior to the Matsumoku made Lyle's produced from 1969-1980. Since Lyle's are generally considered entry level instruments, price is probably considered to be more important than quality. The Japanese instruments being imported by L.D. Heater of Portland OR. must have gotten too pricey and they switched to a Korean supplier.
