I've read everything I could find on the internet, and downloaded at least 30 photos of other MIJ Casinos trying to match distinguishing features of mine with positive info on others. But with no less than 5 Japanese manufacturers over the years, and no clear serial to date system, it gets tough.

I think mine is Matsumoku, but I'm not sure. The 7 digit serial number starts with a 3, and some say that means 1983. However, the 3 piece maple neck (which mine has) is supposedly a distinguishing feature of Matsumoku produced Casinos between 76 and 79. Also, the pickup cavity has a "78" written in next the inspectors stamp. 1978? Still not sure.

Thanks for any help, and it's great to be in company with those of shared interests. BTW, the Casino plays and sounds great.
