Hi Deathwoman, did a little bit of Googling for you, I think your guitar's made in Japan, possibly late 1980s, early 1990s. It's possible that the Marilyn design has been added since the guitar was first bought.

I can't find any info on how to date an ESP by the serial number, you could try Emailing some info about your guitars to ESP at techinfo@espguitars.com

from the ESP web site “ESP maintains limited production records. Send an e-mail to techinfo including serial number, description, & pictures (make sure to include close-up shots of headstock front & back, back of neck plate & top of body) to help with the dating process. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to date your instrument, but we will at least try and help! (Please note: If you do not send pictures, chances are we will not be able to assist you with your request....."

Since this model has been produced until 1990 it must be a Japanese one (USA custom shop started in the mid 90s).

now i General sure this guitar is made in japan .it is a Domestic Sale model .is more low end than M2 ( oversea) mondel.
late 90"esp has usa made .it is return to japan made when 1991.
