pandora picture

i recently acquired a Pandora guitar....it is a copy of a gibson barney kessel
custom 1967....does anyone know anything about this guitar?

Oh yeah... definitely and aria/univox type thing... one big factory, fifty brand names depending on importer... I've seen this exact guitar branded both Greco and Ventura.

That guitar looks really sweet.

Interesting that while most of the guitar is copied after the Barney Kessel, the diamond f holes were copied from the Trini Lopez.

Actually, the switch on the bass-side bout is also borrowed from the Trini Lopez..neither the Kessel Regular nor the Kessel Custom had it, but the Lopez Deluxe did ( the Lopez Standard did'nt have it, either ).

Oh, it was a "Standby" switch, by the way !

There was a fella in Texas in the '70s that used to import these guitars & add Organ circuitry to them, turning them "Guitorgans" .

thanks for all the info guys....much appreciated.....also thanks for the tip about the extra switch .....someone butchered the wiring on the guitar....now i have the info to wire it correctly!
