I also have a guitar identified only as L759 6540.
It does have the electronics and the 2 piece wooden bridge,
but no other identification.

Definitely a 50's piece made my Kay.
Looks like its been sanded down.
Take a look at the underside of that pickup, there should be a series of numbers stamped onto it... thats the date of production for the pickup. Should be able to pinpoint a production year from there.

Ja - I found that exact model in the 1959 Kay catalog. It's a Pacer, model K6540. The description says spruce top,curly maple back and sides. The finish has been sanded off on yours.It origianally had a sunburst finish. Original price was $79.95. The double pickup version Pacer K6550 was $99.95.
