Need help from the experts.

First, I will get a picture posted as soon as I can but here is a description of my late Father in law's guitar.
All assistance in identifying is appreciated.
The picture itself - which as mentioned I will post as soon as I can - was taken in the 60s.

The guitar is a hollow body with f holes.
Single cutaway.
Cherry sunburst.
Large white pickguard.
Headstock has a whiteface.

Ringing any bells?

That really could be any number of guitars... but the headstock having a "white face" would lead me to think its from the Valco family...

doess it kind of look like this? i know you have a cutaway, but this is the only one i could find with the white headstock..........
