Unknown Teisco?? Maybe or maybe not

Hi all,

I bought a Secondhand guitar the other day for £25GBP

I play left handed so when i see something quirky i buy it and convert it.

Have a look at the pics see what you think... It has a plate on the back which says made in japan but this could be a replacement or something, Looks like many many parts have been altered over the years... and yes that it a DIY spray gold job... Blurgh!

thanks for any info... I have looked at Teisco designs, american designs, asian designs and can't make my mind up, almost seems like a custom home brew

It's a hacked up Teisco.

Someone has put non-original (and too-long) screws to hold the neck to the body.

Good catch Mrblanche. Didn't notice that screw end pushing up the fret board. Bridge and tuners are not original and that's some nasty fret board separation at the headstock end of the neck.

Sorry Left_Hand_Strat, but at $35 USD this instrument is probably worth more in parts than as an intact instrument. It is indeed a "hacked up" Teisco and not worth the time and effort it would take to make it a non "hacked up" Teisco.

I say part it out, make a small profit and look for your next project.
