What's My 1937 00-18 Martin Worth?

Hi everyone - my first time here - ran across this forum while searching for the value of my Martin...

I inherited my Martin from my Father when he passed some years ago... I learned to play on it and it has a very colorful history...

It is a 00-18 serial # 71642 and as near as I can tell from the Martin web site it was built in 1937 which sounds about right according to the stories my Dad told me... A real sweet sounding instrument... In fair to good condition... Finish shows some wear but it's mechanically sound... I was thinking about possibly sending it to the Martin factory for restoration/repair but I don't want to degrade the value of it... If restoring it would do that, then I would leave it be as it is...

I also have a near mint condition Fender Jaguar circa 1962 or 63... I'd have to remove the neck again to check the date - I did that once before but neglected to write down the info...

Any comments would be greatly appreciated...

Hey Les,

According to the 2007 VG Price Guide it is valued somewhere between $5,200 - $5,500.

Thanks Vintaxe - boy that's fantastic... Of course, I would never sell it... Too many memories of Dad and I and the family sitting around playing and singing...

Do you have any idea what the Jaguar is worth - oops, maybe I had better check that link you gave me first...
