Hondo Stratocaster style guitar

Anyone know much about Hondo? I've got the time period of this guitar narrowed down to the very late 70's and early to mid 80's. I don't know the exact model. It' a faded white stratocaster copy which I have replaced the neck on with a warmoth stratocaster neck. I still have the original neck which i can put back on, if that helps.

Given what I can see of the headstock shape and the fact that the headstock is in the same finish as the body, I would say you have a model H-760 finished in Metallic Pearl White from 1984. It retailed for $300 back in the day.

Was there ever a decal on the headstock?

I found two on eBay.The H-76 looks like yours, rosewood board,truss rod adjustmnet at the headstock.



The H-760 has a maple board and the truss rod adjustment appears to be at the neck heel, not the headstock.

Looks like the H-76 was produced in 1989 so your guitar is a bit later than you estimated patrick is a stratocaster.

Thanks guys, it is indeed the H-76 model I have. There was a decal on the headstock just like those from the photos, which, if i remember correctly, indicates it is from the original series "Hondo" and not the "Hondo II" on later models?

One thing I thought was odd about this model guitar is the fact that even though the original neck is a rosewood "slab" style fingerboard, where the truss rod would be inserted before the fingerboard was put on, is the fact that Hondo for some reason chose to cut a "skunk stripe" and insert the truss rod that way anyways.
