a couple of weeks ago i was in the local pawn type place and asked the guys if they had old Yamaha catalogs, they did and let me take copies of whatever I wanted...so I have the specs on your Image...I`ll list them just in case you don`t know them, if you already do, I`ll just come back and delete em...
from the 1988 catalog...

NECK: Mahogant set in neck
FINGERBOARD: Brazilian rosewood, 22 frets, 350 radius
BRIDGE: Vintage-pro
PICK-UPS: H.I.P.S. x2

FINISH: CH, BLD
thats all they listed for specs, theres a lot of stuff written underneath but it`s all in Japanese, sorry. Don`t know if in 1988 as many Japanese builders were using as much African mahogany as they do now, and in current catalogs if it isn`t listed as Honduras mahogany it generally isn`t, but even 10 years ago almost everybody was using Honduras so there was no need to list it as such but now that it`s become more scarce makers save it for their top end models and charge a premium for it, not so when your Yamaha was made, so all that to say...it could very well be Honduras mahogany and the Brazilian fingerboard is a nice touch. The Standard I see on line here has at least a 3 piece body, can you see any seams in yours?
Yamaha is probably my favorite builder, certainly the most consistent and workmanship is second to none...and thats why I have so many of em.
