Hi
i bougth this guitar 4 years ago, and can still not find out how old it is.
The pickguard can be removed making it a acustic guitar. Pickgaurd, pickups, jack is all in one pice.
And if anyone can estimate a value that would be great too.....

Serialnr: 43808
modellnr: s/60-52L (or 5/60-52L?)

Hi John,

Your guitar is a Framus Missouri 5/60.

Framus numbers can be read as follows:
5 = Guitar
5/60 = Model
52 = the number of pickups, in your case 2

I'm not sure about the L. The 5/60 came in 5/60Eb and 5/60EL variants so you probably have the EL. I think Eb was the sunburst finish and EL was the natural finish that your guitar displays.

There should also be numbers on the label that will tell you the date of manufacture. It will be a combination of a number and a letter. The letters correspond to the month. For example:

65 = Year produced
B = February

If you can't find this code, I can tell you the 5/60 was introduced around 1960 and continued until 1977. Since your's has the additional EL on the label it is probably 1965 or later.

Value in the U.S. is around $450-$650 USD depending on condition.

hope this helps you,

sb
