I would like to know some info on the value of my guitar. As stated in the title, it is a 1961 1992b. It is in the catalog on this site, from 1961, on page 8. It is the same, only mine has chrome hardware, and a cream pickguard. I got this guitar from the original owner, but he has since passed away. The electronics work great. It is in beautiful condition, and the only damage is on the back of the neck, around the 7th fret, it has a chip. It may be from wear, because the guitar was played at a church, and that was where the thumb was most of the time with the chords used. Sorry Im rambling! There is also a scrape off the paint on the left edge of the body. I do also have the original hardcase. I am wanting to know the value because a local collecter is intrested in it. I will try to post some pics in a little while. Thank you in advance!!.......paul :D Ok everybody heres the link to the pics http://s105.photobucket.com/albums/m202 ... y%201992b/

Hey rgsuperstrat, thanks for the pictures.

The Price Guides are not much help with most Kay guitars. I like what Zach wrote under the Kay Pro entry in the Blue Book, "The secondary market is still undefined".

I think we need to turn to eBay to help establish value. While there is no guitar exactly like yours up for auction at the moment, there are several Kay thinline models up that should assist with establishing value.

Here is a value leader thinline that the guy wants a minimum of $425 for. You may want to watch and see if he gets it:

Here's another value leader that needs to be cleaned up but looks to be original condition:

I'd say your thinline is worth a bit more than these later examples due to the speed bump pickups. Good luck.
