Does anyone know the real value of an excellent condition Ampeg Stud 6 string electric? Is it a collectable piece?

Hey G52. I don't know the real value of the Ampeg Stud but I can tell you what the 2007 edition of the Blue Book says. They suggest $400 for Mint and $325 for Excellent Plus.
I got an email from Zack earlier in the week letting me know that the new edition of the Blue Book has gone to press. He always sends me a set of price guides so I should have the new edition shortly. I'll check to see how price estimates have changed when they arrive.
I think other than the Dan Armstrong guitars, the most collectible Ampeg instruments are their bass guitars. I'd still like to have a 'Devil Bass" or one of their scroll basses. I've never played a Stud, but they look a little clunky to me. I think for collectibility, you are better off with a Gibson SG.
