Other than the missing "ashtray" tailpiece cover I don't see much cosmetically wrong with your bass. Does it have neck issues?

Here is a pretty clean Vista Sonic up for sale. Honestly, this asking price looks pretty optimistic to me but they are likely trying to get some milage out of the "famous artist" connection.



The blue book suggests a value closer to $500 for a Vista Sonic but they are not well known instruments in the States and may be more appreciated in the UK market.

Thanks for the swift reply. no the neck is fine other than the nut is chipped but i would suspect that is will be relaced as it looks original and well worn.as you say the "ashtray is missing but could be replaced thanks for the heads up on the other one for sale.

Nice bass. You could get it looking real good. The finish actually looks to be in real good condition,though it could use a good cleaning.You should also be able to get all the metal looking good with some polishing.The plating still looks fine,just a bit tarnished.

I have to disagree. Time spent cleaning a guitar for sale is time well spent. A clean looking guitar is a far better buying incentive then a dirty, tarnished appearence and,if all else is in good working order, definately ups it's condition rating.

id clean it too. unless your idea of "patina" is years of dust, smoke and finger gook.

If you're going to clean up a vinage guitar I'd recommend Virtuoso cleaner and polish. I've used it on a couple guitars with amazing results. I'm under the impression that, depending on what you mean by furniture polish, you could be doing more harm than good.
