Old Strat

1st post. I have a stratocaster that I purchased used in 1975. When I got it, it was already heavily modified. It had grovers, and was painted black (with a brush). Over the years I had that removed and semi-refinished, re-installes Klusons). Turns out was a sunburst. It is a '57, stamped on the neck and body. The neckplate was changed. It dates it a '63. The pickups are '63 or '64. I know this because I had them re-wrapped by John Suhr, and he said that he wrapped them to the specs of that era. The electronics have changed. I changed the pots and switch, which was already a 5-way. Given the lack of originality, is this guitar still in demand?

Even with the mods your 57 strat is probably valued in the $6,000-$8,000 range. I suggest going to the Gruhn Guitars website, clicking the inventory button and seeing whether they have any strats for sale that resemble yours.
