Value of Japanese Bass? WOW 108 views and not 1 response?

This guitar has either stumped the experts or is not worthy of comment, but,
I have had this bass for a while and I have no idea about the maker, year or value.
I am thinking Japanese, 1970's.
I have seen one marked Kent on the headstock, others are being called Global, Bradley and Teisco.
The length from the nut to the bridge is 24 inches.
I don't think the knobs are original.
The neck plate has 4 screws and has no writing on it.

I don't normally check out basses, not my area. Looks like a Kay to me, late 70 early 80's. Just looking at it, I think 40.00 is about right unless it plays WAY better than they used to. Brand new I think I remember we used to sell them for 79.99 or 89.99
