It just so happens that the guitar that i thought was a suprosonic is a 1965-1966 supro ozark. Anyone have any info or a price on it?

Hey ibanezgrx405,

The 2007 VG Price Guide values them between $600 - $1,000. The year or finish doesn't seem to matter as far as value is concerned. This should give you a ballpark. sb

Aparently Jimi Hendrix owned a Supro Ozark 1560 - a very famous guitar.

Joe Perry Aerosmith used one too.

but there are different shapes with that name (cutaway/noncutaway) - not like your photo.

Hi ibanezgrx405,

Guitar values can certainly be influenced strongly if the guitar is associated with prominent players. The jump in value of National Res-O-Glas guitars after Jack White adopted them is a recent case in point.

My hunch is that very few Hendricks fans know that a Supro Ozark was his first electric guitar so I wouldn't expect the Supro to get much of a bump in value from a Jimi association. If the artist isn't pictured with the instrument in well known photos the value of the association is probably minimal. Just my opinion, sb
