Help Identify This Guitar

Hello all and thank you in advance for your help -

I was given this guitar (with a 1970 Fender Champ-Amp) by way of my mother. It was her guitar back in 1970.

You have an early 1970's Kawai. Looks like your mother must have received the guitar as a new purchase.

The Champ is worth more money. Lots of guys like the Champ circuit as a recording amp. sb

Did Kawai make guitars before acquiring Teisco? Or is this Teisco-made guitar, under the Kawai banner?

I find it interesting that a manufacturer's badge wasn't put on the guitar... is that indicative of the Japanese guitar makers?

I'd love to nail down the model for the Kawai at some point. I'm not looking to sell it as it has a good amount of sentimental value to it and it's not a bad guitar. It's got that "Wow, what is THAT?" quality to it.

And the Champ isn't going anywhere either. Cold War era amplifiers are great! And after all these years, it sounds great... all original parts.
