A weird little bass

I need help identifying and finding information on a bass I recently acquired.

So far, all I've come up with is a brand name: "Cameo." The model is possibly called a "Deluxe"

The body and pickguard are shaped like a copy of a '51 Precision Bass. The headstock is Telecaster-shaped. It looks short-scale. It has two chrome-covered pickups that have "Maxon" printed on the back of them, one pickup is very close to the neck, the other is about halfway between the bridge and the neck.

If anybody has [i]any[/i] information or knows where I can find some info, I would appreciate it. I'm working on refinishing it right now and I'm thinking about putting a full-scale neck on it, moving the bridge back, and installing a third bridge pickup. That is, if I find out it's not worth anything.

So...what is this? Has anybody else ever seen or heard about anything like this?

I know yours has two pickups, but do you see any similarities? sb
