please help me identify this guitar - i have talked to many shops around town & some people told me it might be a catalog order. the only tag is on the back that says made in japan steel reinforced neck. it looks like a 1960s hollow body electric .

That trem is a dead giveaway... DEFINITELY an Ibanez tremolo... but we'll need larger images to make a proper ID.

I recognized the trem as Ibanez as well Michael, but I couldn't get beyond that with the ID. I'm getting grumpy in my old age and put forth less than my best effort when not provided with necessary pictures/info to help with identification. Not a slam on you promotive, but we've got to have decent pics if you want help. I know figuring out how to provide the pics is a hassle, but trying to ID a guitar from small pics is also a hassle. When it's summertime and the livins' easy, sometimes the motivation is just not there.

This is the closest I can find on the The Sixties Ibanez site, although I never would have guessed Ibanez without Michael's comment. From that small picture, I thought the letter on the trem was a stylized G! This is a model 482 from 1966. Looks the exactly same to me except for the 3 knobs. There is no exact same looking model shown.
