what guitar is this?

Th pic is from 1965 - not the best angle to see the guitar unfortunately
any ideas?

Hi Jules,
You are right, it is difficult to tell much about the guitar from the picture, but that has never stopped me from taking a guess. The end of the headstock looks knobby. That along with the fact that the Chambers Brothers endorsed Univox in the 1960's leads me to guess the guitar is a Univox 335 copy. I've got a picture of one of these instruments in the Guitar Gallery on the site. Click here to check it out, it's my best guess.

funny head, gimpy bass cutaway, bound fingerboard with blocks, pickguard-mounted knobs on the bass side, metal-covered pickups, jack on the top, and no body binding or seam.
my guess is solidbody valco, such as the airline town & country, or some variation.
