Hi, I am new to forum. This forum seems to be informative in the guitars I need help with the most, The mysterious Made In Japan models. I have developed an interest lately, so I jumped when I got a deal on 3 guitars recently to get me started. One in particular I acquired perked my interest. After much study and searching I still can't find an answer as to its origin. Maybe someone can help identify or point me in the right direction. The guitar has Teisco qualities as most do, but the pickguard in this shape I cannot find on any other. Pickguard is metal, I have had it torn apart and cannot find any marks anywhere, the neck pocket is not marked. The neck seems to be original to the body. The string keeper has c-clips instead of nuts holding it on. I cannot find a definitive outline on head stock where a name used to be. Its rusty, dusty and crazed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Hey Bodean and welcome to the Forum. The pickup on your guitar is almost exclusively found on mid 1960's Guyatone instruments. Many Guyatones were sold in the US under the Kent brand name. You may not find a Kent that exactly matches your model since Guyatone built guitars for a lot of different distributors, however, I'm confident your instrument was made by Guyatone.
