My wife has a cousin who lives in Waco. She married a guy a while back, and he died around Christmas time this year. His health, amazingly enough, was pretty poor for a while before that. He had been a musician for a long time, well back into the 60's.

I noticed a picture on the wall of him and a couple of friends in what must have been basically a garage band, when they were all young teenagers. You know, white shirts, matching pants and shoes, "The Gents" on the bass drum head...and a trio of matched Mosrites, 2 six-strings and a bass.

I haven't been able to identify the model for sure, but they appeared to be "Ventures" look-alikes, except with a black rather than natural headstock. Double cut, lower horn longer than the upper, and 2 pickups, both humbucker-sized, the neck pickup angled.

Now...what would you give to have those today?

Unfortunately, he had had to sell all his equipment some time back, although he still had one guitar and one amp. A Mexican Fender fat strat. And a a Fender 65 amp, I believe.
