Everyone's seen these... the ten-dollar dime-store special... branded every which way possible... Harmony... Silvertone.... Stella... even Airline with a Fender-style headstock!... but I bet you never seen this!!
I call him Gut-Bucket Henry, or just "Hank" for short... haha...
Nothing too special... just a 1961 Harmony-made Silvertone H604... a student-grade parlor guitar with a baseball bat for a neck and a fake flamejob... these are pretty much a dime a dozen...
Except for this... a Gibson P-13 pickup with its original (COMPLETE) wiring harness... undoubtedly from a high-end Harmony... Harmony used these (with that faux-tortoise shell pickup ring) on their high-end H-5x and H-6x series until they ran out in the late 50's.
This guitar came from Illinois... and boy does it smell. The inside of the soundhole literally smells like an old man's bar. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point some old cat busted up his high-end Harmony and couldn't afford much else, so he slapped the electronics into this cheap little fella... at least, that just what I like to imagine happened... hahaha...
Handles like a tank, but sounds old and dirty. Love it.
