Well mrblanche, I think most everyone agrees that Teisco's strong suite was looks, and playability was an after thought. This certainly qualifies them as worthy wallhangers.
On the positive side I would say many of them have both cool looks and interesting single coil pickups.
On the downside, they frequently have poor action (correctable), intonation issues (sometimes correctable) and go out of tune (not correctable if you want to keep them original).
I find them most suited to recording where the tuning issue isn't as pronounced as playing live. When I'm not recording with them, I like to hang them on the wall. As you have observed, they do make great studio decoration.
