Here's a fun idea... in this thread, discuss your more "interesting" or "unique" approaches to gear at gigs... the kind of approaches/solutions that make you yourself stand back and say "wow."
Inspired by my gig tonight... I think this is the nerdiest/most oddball-obsessed I'll ever be at a gig.
My band Les Trois Chaud as a gig with some friends in a TINY room. I've ben tasked with bringing a PA, drum kit, amps, blah blah blah.... and let me reiterate, this room is TINY.
SO! Here's the rigs for tonight.
The PA consists of two Kustom 4x8" tuck-and-roll columns, powered by an aging Traynor Beta500, and mixed with an old Tascam 106 6x4 console.
I'm bringing a few SM58s, but I'm also bringing an EV630, a Shure 55 Series 1, a 40's Brown Bullet.
System reverb will come from my Premier 90.
The bass amp for the night will be my Alamo Fury.
The room is literally too small for even my Reverberocket II, so I'm using my (modded) Kay 503 daisy-chained into my (also modded) Silvertone 1448 case-amp.
I'll be playing my 2pu Kay Style Leader with my Silvertone 1413L as a backup.
Drums will be my Norma "Junior Mod" kit... 9" rack, 10" floor, 16" kick with a Sonor Pancake snare!!
Oh dear god... I'm a gear junkie.
