I always thought it would be fun to own one of these Erlewine Lazers as most notably played by Johnny Winter.

I think Johnny tunes his down a whole step to D to produce his signature Texas Blues sound. To see what I mean, check out this performance of Johnny playing the Erlewine on his rendition of "Rock Me Baby".

Looks like a travel guitar - very compact....

It does look like a travel guitar but I don't think it was designed for that purpose. I'm sure the light weight suits Johnny well. He was never the picture of health, and I'm sure the weight of that huge Firebird he played for years has taken it's toll. The thing that fascinates me about the Erlewine is the short scale coupled with the dropped tuning must make the strings feel like rubber bands.

Here's a picture of the Hondo copy version:

... yes, small guitars are nice. I have my Gittler and a Höfner Shorty, and always have to remind myself I have enough guitars when a mini-guitar is crossing my way :)

They seem to adress "Kindchen-Schema" (will have to look up the translation for it ...) ...ah, ok: scheme of childlike characteristics.

Interesting seeing the Stratotone labeled a travel guitar. :)

BUt...it has the old style head stock so for me I'd buy it before the new style. You can always get rid of the trapeze......

Ugly but, for me, no as much as the new headstock..... IMHO
Thanks
