Vox Typhoon

Vox marketed three (3)of the Eko 200 Series thinline archtop guitars. The small one pickup 3/4 size version was the TORNADO, the full size single pickup model was the WILDCAT and the two pickup model is the TYPHOON. I just bought the Typhoon pictured below this morning to complete the series - can't wait to get her!. The Wildcat, btw, is a surprisingly well made guitar with a great neck - one of my 'go to' guitars.




The Typhoon will be the 'big brother' of these two.

It sure looks sweet in the pictures. You have been acquiring some pristine looking Vox guitars lately; care to share your secret? Just kidding, I know your secret is hard work.

Yes, the Typhoon arrived. She's really sweet, the neck is comfy and a beautifully flamed maple. That one completes my trio of jazz-box guitars that Vox marketed. L to R Wildcat, Tornado, Typhoon.

Any idea of the inspiration behind the Tornado headstock shape? Is the "melted" look just an Italian sensibility? Maybe Salvador Dali's influence on guitar design is greater than I've realized. sb
