The VintAxe Guitar Forum

A Place for Vintage Guitar Enthusiasts to Pursue their Passion

I see, like most forums...

This is the place to discuss bands, pedals, technique or a memorable gig experience. All noninstrument related musical topics are welcome

you're having trouble with spam. I'm tempted to collect these people's e-mail address and pass them on to a friend of mine who works in the software department of a "significant" electronics manufacturer. He can flood an address with over 6,000 e-mails per hour, which is usually enough to get the recipient banned.

We broke an e-bay scam that way a couple of weeks ago.

The forum for our hot rod club has no such problem, because you have to register, then receive an e-mail, and then every post has the web address recorded.

Yeah, the spammers have been relentless the past couple of months. I have avoided administrative approval for registration because I don't want to put obstacles in the way of legitimate new members that want to register. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to keep the spammers off through email banning so I've made the switch to Administrator approval for new member registration.

If you are a prospective new member, I'll get your registration approved ASAP. If you are a spammer, don't bother trying to register, it's not worth your time. sb
