korean guitars

hi folks, this is my first post in this forum.i was wondering if any one had an opinion on buying a guitar in south korea. i have contacts who will be traveling to and from on a regular basis and was thinking it might save alot of money to have them purchase an axe there and carry it back here to canada, they are korean citizens and should be able to avoid big duty charges. im open to be corrected if anyone knows better. any help would be

Korean guitars are pretty cheap as it is already I'm doubt it would be worth it to try to do that unless there is a specific model that is easier to find or significantly cheaper over there.

Not sure but i think there are a range of good quality acoustics (solid woods - no laminates) made in Korea now... if you can get one supercheap - why not?
