comes the one guy who could, and still does. Mike Nesmith was a pretty good guitarist and an innovator. Of course, he could afford to be; his mother invented White Out, and Mike didn't lack for much of anything.

Actually Peter Tork is/was more accomplished as a musician than a lot of people give him credit for. He was a folkie in Greenwich Village for a while, was later part of the LA folk/rock scene and played guitar, banjo and keyboards on the Monkees recordings. He still tours and records.

That said, Nesmith was always my favorite Monkee. I was lucky enough to be allowed to contribute to this Nesmith tribute CD:
