Les Paul is renown for being one of the first to use multi-tracking on his recordings.
Here's a clip of he and Mary recording the 25th and 26th tracks on one of their songs in 1953:

Now thats music to me. Guess thats why I don't like all this new age crap.
I play a lot of old time blues and country music.Nothing like good clean played music.
