Hi - I am a newbie here. I have a bit of a collection of old Japanese acoustics including a 1970 Takeharu WT300, 1969 Yamaha G170A and several other axes that are dear to me. I also have two Kawai guitars a KF-70 steel string and an M-40 nylon. They are both old - I estimate 60's and in pretty good playable condition but I would love to know something of the history and the timbers used.

The KF-70 looks like walnut back and sides - probably veneer.

The M-40 b&S are solid looks like maybe Brazilian Rosewood - strong grain golden brown colour with spidery fleck. I have emailed Kawai and they have ignored me - so if anyone hear can shed any light at all on old Kawai's I would really appreciate it_________________An Old Plucker from Oz
