old acoustic pickup

hi all-
i'm new to the forum, so i apologize in advance if i'm posting in the wrong place... i found an old acoustic guitar pickup at a flea market, brand new and still in the package for a buck, a brand i've never heard of, so i was hoping someone might have some info on it... the brand is G.C. Electronics, and the pickup is a Calectro, on the package it says : Magnetic Guitar Microphone Cat. NO. Q4-198. i have included a picture.

Calectro produced electronic parts and accessories in the 1970's. Their stuff was distributed by G.C. Electronics.

Looks like you've got a budget brand acoustic pickup from the mid 1970's. It appears to have some significant damage, does it work?

i haven't hooked it up to check, but it is brand new, it doesn't appear to ever have been installed on a guitar, there's no damage at all, so i'm assuming it works. i think you're right about the budget aspect of it, the package has an original price tag on it of $7.50 (i bought it for a dollar).
