Any idea about this? Diastone

My best friend and I bought two brand new Diastone acoustics back 77' at a shop in Madison WI. He was a Gibson guy and got the Gibson copy and I was the Martin guy and got the Martin copy. I don't know the model # for his but mine was a SF 118. I paid $400 for mine which was alot back then. I don't know what has happend to his but mine is still my main guitar 35 years latter. We felt we were getting a Gibson and Martin just with a diastone lable on it. I play it at church opposite a Martin and it sounds as good or better. Diastones are great mij copies. Mine has aged really well. Info on the brand is hard to come by. Some connection to Martin as they made copy ukes as far back as the 60's and Takamine.
