I have a Contessa HG-12 Serial Number 197210. What can you guys tell me about it? When was it made? Where was it made?

Contessa guitars were built in Italy between 1966 and the early 1970's. They were distributed in the US by M. Hohner Inc. of Hicksville N.Y.
I'm guessing the 1972 in the serial number of your guitar is likely the year it was built. It has been speculated that the HG in the model name refers to "Hohner Guitar"
