Interesting vintage instrument. It's called a lute guitar. Scroll down to the bottom of this page.



Here's a real nice more modern made version that I found for sale.

Ok, I'll bite.

Is it a Deutsche Rundlauten?

I will upload a 1957 Hopf catalog tomorrow with a mechanically similar looking instrument.

At least now I know where EKO got the inspiration for the knobby headstock logo on their 1960's model 995 bass guitars. Or did the Germans copy the Italians?
