Thrift Store Guitar I need help Identifying! VEGA FT-90

Today while at a thrift store looking for LPs I ended up going to the counter to pay, they were trying to price a vintage looking acoustic guitar, I took a look at it and it looked like something decent minus the crack running down the side of the guitar. I told him I liked it a lot and he sold it to me for 8 dollars. I started looking at it in depth and it seems to be hand numbered made in the USA in Boston Mass. The Brand is VEGA the model, FT-90, the serial, 11288. It plays like a dream, the action is like butter and the sound is crisp. Even with the hole. I'm wondering what year it's from, how much it's worth, and all that. I'm considering bringing it to get the hole patched up but I want to make sure it's worth it first! I think he's right about the date. I looked for info on Vega guitar serial numbers and found there's nothing available. I did find a couple of references on line who suggested that they might have used the same serial number system for their guitars as they used for their banjos, which is what Vega is really more famous for. They made some of the most sought after,high end vintage banjos. I found the banjo serial number info and if this assumption is correct, your serial number does indeed fit somewhere between 1963-1964. Here's what I found:
