Nardan Guitars?

Does anybody know anything about nardan guitars? I tried to look them up and got nowhere. I have a 60's 70's acoustic archtop built by them, No.65.

i suspect that that's made not so long ago in in india but maybe it really is 60's japonaise. tell us a bit about the circumstances concerning how where and when you acquired it.

ich habe vor einiger zeit eine alte akustikgitarre geschenkt bekommen. hab durch googeln nichts herausbekommen können. im korpus klebt ein zettel mit der aufschrift "nardan guitar no. 50 stractly handmade"
die gitarre ist in sunburst lackiert und hat f-löcher im korpus. der lack ist überall mit feinen haarrissen übersäht.
mich würde interessieren, wo die gitarre herkommt, wann sie gebaut wurde und wie es preislich um sie steht. der zustand ist schlecht, da sie ziemlich runtergekommen aussieht und im moment nicht spielbereit ist. habe von der alten dame, die mir die gitarre schenkte, den hinweis bekommen, dass ihr mann wohl schon in den 40er jahren auf ihr gespielt hat... wie hört sich das an? was könnt ihr mir dazu sagen?

briefly translated it says he can't find any info , it's sunburst with f holes and he got given it by an old lady who reckoned her husband had played it in the 40's.

I got it off craigslist a little over a year ago. It has a truss rod cover that says pat. 34-4127. Looking that up seems about as hard to find anything other than that kawai guitars used the same type of cover in 1964-65 But thats not much help. Would have never thought it could be newer.

No characteristics of it seem to point in either direction. Theres a few places where the clearcoat is cracking. The binding around the edges has fine cracks next to it like its starting to come off. It has a hairline crack on the heel of the neck. The buttons on the tuners are cracked and loose and the weird plastic covers on the back of the tuners over the gears is yellowed. But all of that could just be shoddy manufacturing too.

Nardan was a brandname used by the Shinko Musical Company of Nagoya Japan. Nagoya is a major industrial port city in Aichee prefecture and one of Japan's long established guitar making centers.

Here is a Nardan Archtop I found online. The owner thinks it is 1960's. The f holes look similar to those on your guitar.
