Black "Musical Note" guitar

I just picked this up off of CL for $10 USD. It hasn't even been wiped down yet.

No badge on the headstock, but the shape and stencil suggest Kay/Harmony/Sivertone. It is a reduced scale (1/2 or 3/4), painted all black with white stenciled musical note and sound hole ring, and painted trim and binding. (3) bolt-on neck. No serial number or stamps on the interior. Construction looks like laminate, but is heavy for it's size. Surprisingly, it is intonated very well for what it is.

Any idea of the true origin or year of manufacture?

It has the look of a mid-1960's Kay Student model, but I remember those as having a tail piece. Something like this.

Very similar to the Kay I first played as a kid, except mine had no badges, all painted on with no attempt to even look like wood. And that would have been mid to late 60's.

Now to figure our how to get the white streak off the back without stripping off the rest of the black paint... Goof-off maybe?

I was wondering what that was. Looked like wax or something. Goof off may strip the finish. What kind of mark is it?

Looks like someone tried to clean it, but it looks like smeared white paint.
