Hey there guys!
I realize this might be a bit of a long shot, but I figured some of you guys might enjoy this. My uncle had a pretty ratty old vintage acoustic that I had fixed up, but unfortunately I have no info on it. It's appears to be a very low end guitar from the 60's, and I'm guessing it's unidentifiable. However, it does have some very defining features such as it's uncommon rosette and glue residue on the headstock insinuating that it had a glued on manufacturer decal on the headstock. The guitar was initially built for steel strings based upon the nut design and the steel strings already on it, however the body could not handle it, badly warping the top of the guitar. I since then fixed the warped top, made a new nut, and switched it over to nylon strings to provide less strain on the top. It has a classical acoustic body type, not having a pickguard, however it is very short and may even be a children's guitar. On the off chance that someone might recognize it, I figured I'd post pictures of it here. Here is a picture of the original body of the guitar http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n93/ ... /MATT1.jpg and of the headstock http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n93/ ... /MATT4.jpg . I was working on it at the time, so it's difficult to see the rosette, however here is a picture of the restored guitar with the original rosette http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-s ... 0965_n.jpg (the sticker inside is one that I added later just to give it some flair). The original serial number roughly drawn on the inside of the guitar was 640527. Thanks so much for reading, hopefully one day down the line I'll be able to figure out who made the guitar!
