oakland personal ?

anyone know anthing about these?

this is another new name to me but there's one advertised about 100 miles away from me for €50, looks nice. it would seem to be genuine made in japan and definately not one of the new chinese "oakland" boxes.

googling ,i came across this one for sale in the UK, seems to be the same apart from the colour.

i've emailed the seller asking how he knows it's 1976.

Hi, Opo. The seller says the guitar has been protected. Hung on the wall.

An acoustic guitar is only protected when it's kept in a hardshell case when not being played. Reason is that changes in temp and humidity, both weather and HVAC, constantly swell, dry, and shrink the wood. The case slows and levels these changes out so the guitar remains stable.

But on the wall, the wood is constantly changing and the tension of the strings starts to pull the guitar apart.

Maybe you can take the guitar to an expert for examination. Otherwise, no way do you want this guitar.

doug, you seem to have misunderstood my post.

i have no interest in the red one for £350.

there's a blonde version of the same guitar for €50 advertised in france , but no reply from the seller yet.
