Was a house brand of Montgomery Ward dept. stores, not many are around these days not sure about them being solid wood guitars though.
Acording to the blue book they do not list models but just as appointments on them and in average shape they say about $100 and $150-200 in excellent shape. They also made electrics which can be fairly collectable. Thats about all I can tell you.ship
Produced by Valco in Chicago which was bought by Kay in the late 60's and by 1970 both companies went under

thanks for the info.......took it to a luthier in my area to verify the solid wood content.....it is, and it seems to be of better quality than the Airlines found in Montgomery Wards......thus the lack of availability as to the history of the actual model.......info is REALLY scarce, lol......super nice guitar, and worth more than what they are currently bringing today.......in my opinion, which don't amount to much......

Can you post a picture?

Here is the wards / airline catalog page from 1966 with an airline acoustic guitar with model number 7023

I think yours could be guitar #17 as listed on the page

http://www.vintaxe.com/cgi-bin/vintaxe_ ... rds_page03

They call the 7023 The "Pacesetter II"
"Selected spruce top in natural finish"
"Rich Mahogany back and sides"
"41 x 15 3/4 in."
Original price $43.95

Here is another page from a later catalog with a very similar (identical?) guitar also listed as model 7023

http://www.vintaxe.com/cgi-bin/vintaxe_ ... rds_page05

All of our Airline catalogs are listed here

If I had know it was an arch top the value of course for the arch tops is closer to the $450. -$600.00 value and yours looks to be in very nice condition, ship

It's definitely the "Pacesetter II / Large Concert Hall Archtop Guitar" I was referring to earlier.

Looks to be in nice shape too.
