Any idea what this weird tenor guitar is? The seller says Kay but I'm thinking it looks more European/Italian.

Any idea what this weird tenor guitar is? The seller says Kay but I'm thinking it looks more European/Italian.

No the seller was right its a Kay model but I am unsure that it started its life as a Tenor and with all the modifications can't really tell what model it was. I am thinking that it might have started as a Baritone guitar.ship

Whatever it was it's mine now and the scale length of 24.75" puts it right there with the mandocello. I bought some mandocello strings and strung it up as one and it works great. I still don't think it was ever a Kay.

l am a collector and a luthier have been for more years than l like to remember .am 78 today. l dont believe its a kay wrong body shape l think its from germany
