My parents bought me a Sears guitar in late 70s or early 80s and I was wondering if anyone knew who the manufacturer was. The only identifying mark is a sticker with the number 559-1280 and Made in Korea.

Hi lmpmulvey and welcome to the Forum

During that time period there were only two major guitar manufactures in Korea: Samick and Cort

Here is a brief history of Samick:

Here is a little blurb on Cort guitar history:

Both companies were OEM manufactures and their guitars were sold under a wide variety of brand names. They copied every major American guitar company and your Dove is a great example of their work.

I don't know who made your guitar, but I'll bet my paycheck it was one of these two companies.
