Hi there. I recently inherited an acoustic guitar which belonged to my Grandfather who passed away in 1975. It is a hummingbird epiphone/gibson design. However, at the head where Gibson or Epiphone label would be it instead says Sorrento.

I've done numerous google searches and can't locate any acoustic guitar showing the label of Sorrento. I know that Epiphone didn't do a hummingbird design until Gibson bought them in 1970. So that puts it at a 1970 to 1975 range if it was in fact created by Gibson. It has a made in Japan sticker on the back but no serial number anywhere.

So I just need help identifying when the guitar was made and by whom.

Thanks for the help!
