One of most classic and iconic guitars of the 1960s – a 1965 Gibson SG Junior in classic Cherry finish.

Gibson first offered the Maestro Vibrola, found on this beautiful example of rock and roll history, in 1965. This option gave innovative players the ability to be more expressive, while still maintaining the guitar’s simple and elegant look. The dog-eared P-90 pickup also first appeared on this model in late 1965.

The single P-90 pickup is original, and growls like a vintage Gibson P-90 should – with a throaty, deep and evenly harmonic tonal quality that made the P-90 one of the world’s most desired pickups.

This particular Gibson SG Junior has been played, but it still has many years – and shows – left to deliver. The body and finish of the guitar has several nicks, dings, scratches and wear spots, though the majority of the body and finish is intact and without any lacquer checking, which is very common on guitars of this vintage. There are no breaks, repairs, or cracks on this guitar at all, and the frets seem to be original and with plenty of life. The Maestro Vibrola works perfectly, as do all the electronics and tuners.

This is a classic rock and roll machine from one of the most classic and iconic makers, Gibson. This was one of the main guitars responsible for the rock and roll revolution of the 1960s, and should be included as a worthy entry in any rock guitar collection. This particular example is in overall FINE condition, and still plays like buttah!

The tone is … well, “amazing” would be an understatement. This SG Junior needs to be played and heard to be fully appreciated. Plugged through one of our Marshall stacks, this SG Junior has provided us several hours of rock and roll bliss … which really made us want to keep her for ourselves. But like we always say … we have wives and children to feed, so we’ve learned not to fall too much love with these beauties … although parting is ALWAYS such sweet sorrow.

The new owner of this guitar will not be disappointed in any way.
I've got some great pictures if interested.
