Hello all, this is my first post ever.
I just found what I believe is one of the first mass produced electric guitars in an antique shop.
It has the gold Dobro with Lyre headstock indicating early to mid 1930's. It's an archtop with f holes and what I believe is an Art Stimpson original pickup. In my searches I've found a National and Supro version of this guitar only. No Dobro brand pics or info anywhere on web. Serial number is A341.
On the Smithsonian Electric guitar history recently aired they skipped over this and went to the Gibson E150 as the first conventional Electric. I believe this guitar predates that model. Any info would be greatly appreciated on this guitar. Thanks, Mike.
